Economic evaluation of MF59 adjuvanted vaccine against influenza in the high-risk elderly population in France

چکیده

Modelling A cohort model was used to assess the costs and consequences of adjuvanted vaccine against influenza in comparison with standard non-adjuvanted vaccination in the high-risk elderly. The model considered the attack rate in the relevant population, and subsequent cases, general practitioner (GP) visits, hospital admissions and deaths. Adverse events were not considered. The time horizon of the analysis was one year.

Safety of MF59-Adjuvanted Influenza Vaccination in the Elderly: Results of a Comparative Study of MF59-Adjuvanted Vaccine Versus Nonadjuvanted Influenza Vaccine in Northern Italy

MF59-adjuvanted trivalent influenza vaccine (Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, Siena, Italy) has been shown to be more effective than nonadjuvanted vaccine in the elderly population. Here we present results from a large-scale, observational, noninterventional, prospective postlicensure study that evaluated the safety of MF59-adjuvanted vaccine in elderly subjects aged 65 years or more. The stu...

Pharmacoeconomic evaluation of the MF59--adjuvanted influenza vaccine in the elderly population in Italy.

INTRODUCTION Influenza vaccination has proven effective in the reduction of influenza-like illness (ILI) cases and influenza-related hospitalizations, drug consumption, primary care consultations and deaths in the elderly population. The aim of this study is the assessment of the financial budget impact of a seasonal vaccination program based on the use of the MF59 adjuvanted vaccine as compare...

Effective influenza vaccines for children

Seasonal influenza causes clinical illness and hospitalization in all age groups; however, conventional inactivated vaccines have only limited efficacy in young children. MF59(®), an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant, has been used since the 1990s to enhance the immunogenicity of influenza vaccines in the elderly, a population with waning immune function due to immunosenescence. Clinical trials no...

Immunogenicity of Three Different Influenza Vaccines against Homologous and Heterologous Strains in Nursing Home Elderly Residents

We studied whether MF59-adjuvanted influenza vaccine improves immunity against drifted influenza strains in institutionalised elderly with underling chronic health conditions. Sera from a randomized study, comparing MF59-adjuvanted (Sub/MF59, n = 72), virosomal (SVV, n = 39), and split (n = 88) vaccines, were retested using a hemagglutination inhibition (HI) assay against homologous (Northern H...

Comparison of the safety and immunogenicity of an MF59®-adjuvanted with a non-adjuvanted seasonal influenza vaccine in elderly subjects.

AIM Adjuvanted influenza vaccines can overcome the poor antibody response of conventional non-adjuvanted vaccines in the elderly. We evaluated the immunogenicity, safety and clinical effectiveness of an MF59(®)-adjuvanted trivalent influenza vaccine (aTIV) compared with a non-adjuvanted vaccine (TIV) in subjects ≥65 years old, with or without co-morbidities. METHODS In 2010-2011, subjects (N=...
